National Trust Cliveden Estate: House & Chapel Guide

You’ll take your audience on a whistle stop tour through Cliveden’s history, showing them areas of house they wouldn’t normally get to see! The stories you engage your groups with will be so exciting, you’ll leave them intrigued and wanting more! The house is not usually open to NT visitors, so for eight months of the year (twice weekly) they get the opportunity to see behind closed doors. Our dedicated House and Chapel team work on Thursday and Sunday afternoons from April – November (there is a rota system; you’re not required to work every week) and run tours of up to 16 people around a section of Cliveden House, or engage visitors with our beautiful Chapel on a more informal basis. This role involves a lot of historical research, so you must be self-motivated and willing to learn, as well as being happy working as part of a group. Public speaking is a must, so you must be happy talking to our visitors. Don’t worry, you won’t be thrown in the deep end; we’ll make sure you shadow our current tour guides before you lead your own – so although the season starts in April, you’ll be gently inducted before being left on your own. The role will suit you if: – Warm, friendly and confident and passionate about history; able to engage groups of up to 16 people at a time in a compelling and lively manner. If history and public speaking are your passions then this is the perfect role for you. To apply for this role please follow this link:
