Saving the Salt Hill Stream Champions: Practical and Citizen Science Volunteering

We are the Salt Hill Stream Champions a volunteer group, part of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, which aims to work as a community to restore the Salt Hill Stream and help create new wetland habitats in the parks and open spaces throughout Slough. If you are interested in the environment, wildlife, working outside or gardening, you will enjoy volunteering with us. We have practical conservation days on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Temple Wood in Chalvey and we have opportunities to become a trained Citizen Scientist and help monitor the health of the stream. This is an amazing opportunity to work within an internationally important wetland conservation organisation. You will be able to work with your local community in a friendly and social environment, allowing you to meet new people. Training will be provided, teaching you new skills including species identification, practical conservation and field surveying techniques. All equipment will be provided, including uniform and species identification guides, if needed. You will also benefit from free access to all WWT Wetland Centres.
